“Compelling. It might be the best description of Adam Trapani’s lyrics and the music he creates to accompany them.” – Louisville Times
Somewhere between Tom Petty’s "Wildflowers" and The Clash’s "London Calling" lies the music of Adam Trapani. A charismatic performer known as much for his playful sense of humor as he is for his modest, thoughtful lyrics, Adam Trapani is not an easy act to categorize. Adam's driving, unrefined guitar playing generates an raw energy that his dynamic, yet delicate voice maintains, while his penetrating lyrics remind listeners of Badly Drawn Boy and R.E.M.
Performing for crowds throughout the Southeast and the Rocky Mountains, Adam has proven himself as a captivating musician. His performances often involve audience participation, with Adam hosting impromptu dance contests and audience-wide hand-holding, and even turning himself into a human water gun. It’s rare to see an Adam show and not come away with a story.
Following the death of his father in 2002, Adam immersed himself in his music, and 2 years later released his acclaimed debut album, “Concrete.” He then set out from his Boulder home on an essential journey across the country to discover just how far music could carry him. He had no gigs or itinerary—just a Martin acoustic and a ’94 Nissan Quest. With a name to echo the theme of his travels, the trusty van was Adam’s home as he made his way from the Rockies to the Pacific and finally to Nashville, where he currently resides. When music was not enough to support him, he picked up a shovel and made a few dollars “the easy way.” Rocking audiences with hits from “Concrete” as well as a few unrecorded tunes, Adam built a reputation for his unabashed personality and inspiring live shows. Now settled in Nashville, Adam has graduated from street busking to performing sell out shows at clubs with his backing band.
